But...I can't!

Yay! You are back! That means you are liking what you are reading, and that makes me feel like I must be doing a great job…or at least you think so. 😊

God has been just the best to me during all of this, He is my best friend, husband, counselor, provider, teacher, father and most importantly healer! 🙌

I would add encourager to that list too! Remember all the things that I have dreamt I wanted to do? He has really helped me heal, get out of my comfort zone, and just go for it!

I stopped listening to the voices of my past telling me that I can't, not good enough, or never will.

Like starting this blog! I knew this was something I needed to do years ago but I was scared. I know that since I had decided to step out in obedience that God is going to move in this in great way.

I mean as I see it, even if I just have one reader, one person who is moved by my story, one person who is also standing for their marriage, one person who needs physical healing and is finding the same hope I found...then I am good!

Even believing for my physical healing and restoration in my marriage; Jesus Himself came to me and clearly said that He was going to heal me and restore my marriage. The Doctors and Specialists were telling me "Impossible" and my own husband was telling me "No! I do not love you anymore." So of course I am going to believe that there is zero hope for me because it's being told to me over and over.

Is there something that you ever wanted to do? A place you wanted to go but maybe someone told you that you can’t, or you will never get there so you just gave up on that dream?

Ha! Ok, I literally had a nostalgic moment…do not laugh at this story…I know you will too!

Remember, the movie Peewee’s Big Adventure? Any 80’s kids out there? 👋

The scene that sticks out to me is when he (Peewee) is at a truck stop restaurant when he realizes his wallet is missing and must wash dishes to pay off his meal. While working he meets a waitress named Simone; I love Simone because she has such great dreams for her life. She dreams of visiting Paris France. She is obsessed with visiting Paris!

There's a part in the movie when they (Peewee and Simone) go watch the sunrise in a giant dinosaur; Simone is sharing with Peewee her dream of Paris but she can’t go because Andy, her boyfriend is really jealous disapproves of her going.

Peewee looks at her and encourages her to go! Go follow her dreams and visit Paris. She responds to Peewee and says “I know Peewee you’re right but…”

He looks at her and says “But what? Everyone I know has a big 'but...' C’mon Simone, let’s talk about your big 'but' ”. 😂

Ok, the 6-year-old little girl in me just laughed because he said “big but” 🙄

That conversation in a little kid’s head is funny and we don’t really understand what he meant…we just heard two words that made us giggle.

It was not until I was a little older, and I was a little more mature in my thinking that this scene that was meant to be silly was really moving to me.

We do have “big buts”!

Thank goodness later in the movie we see Simone breakup with that boyfriend and made her way to Paris! We remember the scene where they say their good byes at the bus station; Simone says, "You were right Peewee, I'm off to Paris!" and they say their "Au Revoirs".

There is always something or someone that feeds us with thoughts that we can’t do it, and we take them and start to believe it.

That trip we’ve wanted to take, the book we’ve wanted to write, the career we wanted to get into, the business we wanted to start, these dreams get put on the shelf sometimes never seen the light of day because of the “buts”.

I am still dealing with my “buts” as well, it took me months to start this blog after God was yelling “kick the 'but' I need you to do this, this is part of your healing as well as someone else’s!”

There is still so much more that God has placed in my heart to do and I am even called to do and I'm learning to step into them, be healed from fear and doubt; and walk forward…what’s the worse thing that can happen? We do what we’ve dreamed and actually become successful at it?

As long as it’s God ordained…He is not going to place a dream or vision in your heart and not open doors for you (for us!) He is going to provide and do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think! (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Time to kick the “but…” …in the butt!

Time to tell those voices from the past “peace out!”✌

Pray over your dreams, write them down and do it!

Did you know that even the bible says to write down your visions? It does!

Habakkuk 2:2-3

Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Wow! That’s a good!

Write down the vision and make it plan on tablets (paper) that he may run who reads it…So that when we read our visions daily, we take it and run with it! It will surely come!!

I don’t know who else is reading this and thinking “I also have dreams and goals but never went forward because someone has told me I couldn’t do it, someone told me I’d fail and I believed it before even trying. I have a big ‘but’ too!” (Yeah, still giggling about that, but it’s true!)😊

It is time! We are not too old by now, we are not without the resources, we are not without a support team (Hi! I’d love to support you!) and you have the world’s best and biggest cheerleader…His name is Jesus!📣🤸‍♂️

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.

I’m with you friend, I am ready! I want to walk in the great plans God has called me to do! I am tired of running and living in fear. I done telling God “maybe later or I’m just not ready.” Whose ever ready? What CEO of a major multi-million business was just ready? He or she was probably scared out of their minds, but they did it!

Do you think a Author of a best-selling novel was ever ready? I’m sure they started writing and scrapped their stories time and time again because the first time it sounded terrible or didn’t just quite come out like they envisioned it but then they went for it and maybe even had an award winning movie made from their novel!

I am sure we can sit here all night and talk about the fears that overcame some very successful people.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Am I the only one seeing a pattern here? Did you notice in the past three scriptures I posted that God is always with us? And He says be courageous, He does not want us to live in fear!

So, if you want to…write down your dreams and what is holding you back in the comments so that we can all pray for one another! I can’t wait to start hearing about and seeing success stories too!

Until next time, I'm praying for you and Jesus loves you!

Good Stuff:

Matthew 19:26

But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Philippians 3:14

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
