Tired By Fire

Hello friends and family! 👋 I’m glad you are back!

I hope your week is going well so far and that you remember how blessed and highly favored you are.

I was reading Job this week…I love the book of Job! Job shows me so much about tests, trying, and trust in God.

I think my life in the past nearly 2 years was rough…we really think our lives are messed up and we have nothing, have you read Job? If not, please do.

I mean, God tested Job’s faithfulness by literally allowing Satan to just attack him (Job 1:12); all the craziness happens, his health, his home, his family, his even tells him to curse God and die…yet Job remained faithful to God. Job did not sin, he did not listen to his wife, he didn’t even blame God for all the chaos that was going on in his life (Job 1:22).

I mean really, if you are going through some hard times right now read the book of Job, there is so much I can say about it but it’s better for you to just read for yourself!

If you ever ask me what my favorite scripture is, I will quickly answer Job 23:10!

It says, “But He know the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10)

After all Job has been through, he would still proclaim that even though God is testing him he knows how we will come out of his trials. Like gold!

If only we can have this attitude, when something terrible happens in our life we are so quick to point the blame at God and yell at him for abandoning us. Sometimes we walk away from Him completely because this is His fault!

I really thought about gold, Job knew, he knew He was going through fire in his life, but he was not worried because he knew God had his back and he was going to make it.

Gold is precious, it’s worth a lot, and it’s beautiful to look at; however, gold has to go through a process of purification.

Gold is put through a refiner’s fire; a refiner uses a fire to heat the gold to a molten state then skims off the impurities that float to the top, then you have beautiful pure gold.

Gold has to be dug up from the earth, mined, put through fire, purified then can be formed into something amazing like jewelry, coins, bars, statues, and if you’re really fancy…toilets! 😂

So much is made from gold and a lot of things are expensive.

I was thinking that all this stuff that I have been dealing with for the past year and a half has really been God being the refiner in my life and putting me through the fire, He is just testing my faith. I mean I was very sick, struggling with clinical depression, my husband walked away from our marriage, I am living with my parents with no income or financial help, applying for job after job, attending interviews with no luck…I’m stuck! I wanted to give up so badly, so much that I wanted to take my own life.

I was at the point when I did want to blame God for all of it, before it was too late, He saved me.

1 Peter 4:12 says: Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as thought something were happening to you.

Everything we are going through is indeed a fiery trial, it’s a test and God know what He is doing, He already sees us coming out as precious, pure gold. Will we stay faithful as Job did? Or will we blame Him and throw in the towel?

Yes, it burns, yes, it’s hot! It really is the worst feeling ever, it’s uncomfortable, it hurts.

Proverbs 17:3-The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and the Lord tests hearts.

You see after God allowed Job to be tested, everything he had stripped from him. Job was faithful to God; he didn’t understand why but he didn’t question God either. After all was done because Job remained faithful God restored everything he lost twice as much! (Job 41:10)

Can you imagine the very thing we lost being returned to us double? Triple? 🙌

If we can just remain faithful to God and trust in Him instead of turning away from Him?

Your health, restoration in your marriage being even better, more loving than before? Your loss of income? I mean…. God is ready to take us through some of the hardest times but promises we will come forth as gold.

I choose to go through the testing, go through the fire, the heart ache, the tears, the struggles, because when it's all over I will have double portion of what was lost.

Are you ready to be tried by fire? Purified? He just wants to make us pure, testing us to remove all the junk from our lives. Go through it, you will come forth as gold.

Until next time I’m praying for you and Jesus loves you so much!

Good Stuff:

1 Peter 1:6-7

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while, these trials will show that your faith in genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious that mere gold. So, when your faith remains strong through many trails, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
